Being in the hospitality industry for the past 15 years, I realized, that most of the companies involved, especially "smaller" ones, maintain a passive approach on what travelling is all about.
With the ongoing support of the owners of Elounda Solfez Villas, I wanted to introduce a concept of active engagment, not only in the level of us as "accommodation" but us as a "living" & thinking organism, with the support of the local Cretan society and its knowledge, in order to offer another perspective, which hopefully will be useful and will be nurtured, not by authorities, but from other people, from a waiter to a hotel manager, that wish to genuinly upgrade the hospitality industry in Greece.
Under that thought we created the Solfeance. From our name, Solfe-z & the French Sé-ance (meeting), still maintaining the typic Greek "Parea" (company of friends) attitude. In other words, good friends, gathered together for dinner or lunch, with great food and wine, relaxed, talking about issues of life, in a beautiful environment, enjoying each other's company.
